The mountains are calling and you must come!

Nine Line Foundation, Inc is very pleased to announce that Expedition Consultants, LLC will be hiking Segments 6, 7 and 8 of the Colorado Trail in July of 2018…and we invite you to join. The total mileage to be conquered is 54 miles – 54 hard miles at high elevations.

The trip will step off  from Good Times Adventure in Breckenridge and will conclude at Camp Hale (the old 10th Mountain WWII mountain training camp).

This expedition will again challenge you physically, mentally and emotionally – and help raise needed monies for Nine Line Foundation’s current recipient.

In 2016, 75 participants hiked over Segments 1, 2, 3, and 6 of the Colorado Trail for our fundraiser.  We are hoping to continue our journey by assisting 75 participants with hiking the Colorado Trail segments 6, 7, and 8 in 2018.

The journey will begin at Good Times Adventures, where we concluded our hike last year.  We would begin at mile marker 17.1 (Middle Fork of the Swan) and continue the next 15.8 miles, completing segment 6. The participants will disperse camp along their hike.  If campgrounds are available, we will try to use them to keep lower impact on the environment.

When the participants cross over to segment 7 (Gold Hill TH) where there will be a station for them to drop off their trash and pick up more food and water to continue segment 7.  The goal for the second day is to complete all of segment 7 and reach Copper Mountain by early afternoon.  The participants will then disperse camp after reaching Copper Mountain.  Where they will again drop off their trash and gather food and water for the next 3 days and 2 nights.

Segment 8 will begin at Copper Mountain and will conclude at one of these 3 places. Option one would be to finish at Tennessee Pass, if given permission from Holy Cross Forest Service. The second option would be to follow FS road 714 or Camp Hale Trail down to Camp Hale where they could visit the area where the 10th Mountain Division trained for WWII. I believe this would be an amazing opportunity for our participants. The final option would be for the participants to finish at highway 24 and be shuttled to a destination.  The participants would spend 3 days and 2 nights completing segment 8. Our goal is to finish segment 8 before noon on Friday.
